Making Law Make Sense
Practice Areas
Business & Corporate Law
Business and Law go hand-in-hand. But Law doesn't have to make the business of being in Business unmanagable. Whether you need a corporate agent, help maintaining corporate books, or need help with company policies and contracts, I can help.
Probate

It can be difficult to know what to do when a friend or loved one passes away, and we have all heard the horror stories about probate.
The truth is that in Washington, probate isn't the neverending process that it is in other states, and even in estates where the deceased didn't plan, or didn't plan well, it can still be a relatively quick and simple process if it is efficiently managed.

Estate Planning
Sometimes, all that is necessary is a review of plans that have already been put in place, to make sure that changes in circumstances and in law don't require new documents to be prepared. If you have no plans in place, or need to have existing ones completely overhauled, I have the experience to help you understand your options and choose the one that is best for you and your circumstances.
Contracts
You have the power to determine the terms by which you deal with other people, and by carefully committing those terms to writing, you can provide answers to the "what-ifs" that become the "what now?" when things don't go according to plan. Whether it is helping to draft the roadmap to deal, or explaining what is in the contract which was given to you, I can help you cut through the legalese so you understand and are comfortable with the essential terms of your contracts.
Wills, Trusts, & Powers of Attorney
Not having a Will doesn't mean that your assets won't be taken care of, but what it does mean is that you won't have any say in how your final affairs are handled, or who will be handling them. Estate planning is one area where individuals have a significant amount of control over the process...IF they chose to exercise it. The process can be as simple or as complex as you choose to make it, depending on the size and scope of your estate, and what your ultimate goals are.
Real Estate

Few things in law stir up raw emotions like real estate does. People tend to take it very seriously, and when they face issues with the ownership of something they have worked so hard to acquire, either due to problems with the conveyance, or due to intrusions such as encroachments, easements, and adverse possession, it can be vital to understand how the law applies to your circumstances.
